I have been thinking about what I want my job title to be once I have completed my full-stack software developer training.
I have used WordPress since 2009 and taught myself php and hooks/functions back in 2020.
In July 2014 I gained a Diploma in Digital Marketing
By 2024 I will have a full-stack software developer certificate.
Using claude.ai and chatgpt I decided to ask for potential titles. My full-stack developer certificate will have a specialisation of advanced-front end, where I will learn React.
Here are the claude.ai suggestions:
“The key is to highlight both your WordPress skills and full stack development abilities. Focusing on WordPress expertise but also conveying your broader software engineering skills. You could also potentially indicate your progression from originally doing WordPress installs to now being a fully fledged developer.”
– Full Stack WordPress Developer
– Web Developer Specializing in WordPress
– Software Engineer with WordPress Expertise
– WordPress Expert & Full Stack Developer
– Full Stack Engineer for Web Applications
– Web Application Developer (WordPress Focus)
– Full Stack Web Developer & WordPress Specialist
– WordPress and Software Development Expert
– Custom WordPress Solutions Engineer
– WordPress Solutions Architect
– WordPress software engineer
– Lead WordPress Developer
– Senior WordPress Developer & Software Engineer
– WordPress Integration Specialist
– WordPress Platform Engineer
– WordPress Systems Developer
and these are the ChatGPT suggestions.
“Given your background in installing WordPress websites and your transition to becoming a full-stack software developer, you might consider titles that highlight your proficiency in both areas. Here are a few title suggestions that reflect your skills:”

- WordPress-Enabled Software Engineer: This title emphasizes your software engineering skills while highlighting your familiarity with WordPress. It suggests that you can leverage WordPress as a platform within your broader software development work.

“Remember that your job title should accurately represent your skills and the type of work you’re looking to do. Choose a title that aligns with your expertise and the types of projects you want to work on, as well as one that resonates with potential clients or employers.”
Advanced Front-End Development
At this point I am pretty sure that front-end interests me more than back-end and I intend to follow the path of advance-front end when I choose my specialism, rather than ecommerce or going the statistical route.
So I asked ChatGPT for names based on the fact that I want to focus on advanced front-end.
ChatGPT results
“Okay, with the additional context that your full stack training is focused on advanced front-end techniques, here are some more potential title ideas:“
- Front-End Focused WordPress Developer
- WordPress Developer Specializing in Front-End
- Advanced Front-End Engineer for WordPress
- WordPress Front-End Expert
- Front-End Driven WordPress Software Engineer
- WordPress Platform Developer (Front-End)
- Front-End Web Developer for WordPress Solutions
- WordPress Front-End Architect
- Lead WordPress Front-End Developer
- Senior WordPress Front-End Engineer
- Custom WordPress Front-End Developer
- WordPress Front-End Systems Developer
- WordPress Front-End Integration Expert
“The key is to call out your front-end specialization while still conveying your WordPress and broader development expertise. Some other ideas could be to indicate proficiency with specific front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g. “React-Based WordPress Developer”, “WordPress Developer Specializing in Vue.js”). Let me know if any of those title ideas resonate or if you’d like me to try some other variations!”
My favourites:
So far I like:
- Full-Stack WordPress Developer
- Web Developer Specializing in WordPress
- WordPress Expert & Full Stack Developer
- Web Application Developer (WordPress Focus)
- Full Stack Web Developer & WordPress Specialist
Another possibility is using a tech-related buzz word and one I love called Agile. I love the agile methodology of focusing on quality rather than quantity.
The 9th suggestion from ChatGPT is
Agile Web and Software Developer: This title emphasizes your agility in both web and software development. It suggests that you can quickly adapt to project needs and deliver effective solutions.
“Agile: An iterative approach to software development that emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and delivering small, incremental improvements.”
So my business moto/pitch as an Agile Web and Software Developer would be that my approach to web design and software development focuses on flexibility, collaboration and delivering small but significant incremental improvements.
That sounds like a great elevator pitch to me!
Having said all of that, if I intend to remain self-employed and work on developing my own projects I guess the real question is does it really matter?

I like the sound of ‘Full Stack Web Developer & WordPress Specialist’ and ‘Web Developer and Digital Solutions Specialist’… (please note that I haven’t a clue as to what these titles mean but I just like how they sound) after studying so hard you go for the best and fanciest title ever!!! Best of luck with your professional endeavours…
I love the first one as well and didn’t see the second one. I quite like Web Developer and Digital Solutions Specialist. It’s just really long! People who need them know what a full stack web developer is and what a WordPress Specialist is but a Digital Solutions Specialist may need some explaining!
Thank you, for being the first person to leave a comment 🙂
