I have spent the last few days working on my README for my final eCommerce project using Django. Once you get to this stage you are pretty much done with the coding and refactoring of code for the site.
As I start 2024 I will have managed to create my eCommerce store but there are a few things that need to be sorted out – mainly the email system that will deliver follow up emails once a purchase has been made.
The submission deadline is March 2024 so I am ahead of time.
As with all the projects I have completed since starting my training, THIS ONE, is definitely the most challenging!
In other news…
I have managed to come up with a clear path as it relates to the work I want to focus on once my training is over. Although I appreciate that paths tend to bend and change direction (and its a good idea to remain flexible) I will focus on building eCommerce sites and eLearning platforms.
I will build them and sell them, maybe offer a service to manage them too.
I also want to build my own community of fellow coders in 2024.
Using Shopify
I have my first Shopify client, and using Shopify in the future may also be a part of the work I do because everything is available – although using a developer is recommended to make it work.
Still to do…
The only part of my journey that I haven’t managed to get started on relates to progressive web apps. While I read a lot about them and how they work I haven’t created one yet. That’s my goal after submitting project 5.
I want all the work I create to be a progressive web app.
Moving my blog
Now that I know how to create and manage my own blogging platform it doesn’t seem worth paying to be on WordPress, although I love WordPress. I think I may create my own website that includes a blog.
Happy New Year
It is 22.50 and I am going to log off and get ready to watch Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny 2023.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.
